Some have ranted that the Colts had a bad season and were not appreciated. Someone needs to look closer at the facts. Colts had another record breaking season. Even more NFL firsts. And they are appreciated much more than some may think. Just look at their attendance in the new Lucas Oil Field (my nickname for the stadium) Over 100%, highest in the league. And another playoff spot. Peyton with another 4000 yard season breaking his own record, Marvin now second to only Jerry Rice in pass receptions! We don't have just a team. We have one of the top teams in NFL history! Even the backups know how to score...and win.
what's with all the douchebag drivers who speed up the far left lane on 69 all the way until it ends and then try to cross 3 lanes of traffic to get off at 96th st. 'bout time to get side swiped or t'boned.
Um, Colby, classics are Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Bach, Schubert, etc. If only you would try listening to them you would not have to worry about a limited repertoire. You would love broccoli, give up cigarettes, and send thank you cards.
On Christmas eve 2008 in broad daylight a man shoots himself in the chest and dies. Only fox reports this with just a paragraph and every other Indy media brushes it under the table, If they disregarded this then what else aren't they telling us?
Recently I have been forced to listen to the local radio. I'm not a fan of pop music so in result I turn to the classics. I discovered that if it wasn't for Pink Floyd 94.7 and 104.5 would be SOL. They constantly play their music, and its not a variety of Pink Floyd its the same songs. I have heard "another brick in the wall" on 94.7 then changed it to 104.5 and it was playing there. The classic rock genre is huge and contains good music. Instead of giving the listeners the same old shit, expand their minds by giving them new classic rock. You owe it to us.
Congratulations Indianapolis you have set a new record for the amounts of murders in one year. As of the 21st there have been 121 murders. The previous record was 120 in 1998.
Its hard to feel safe anymore. The economy is down, Indianapolis is being hit hard with unemployment and people are going to get more desperate. The police are currupt and are losing their authority.
Greg Ballard can't do anything right, making Indianapolis leaderless.
We have to ban together as communities and as a city. As the honest and hard working people of Indianapolis we deserve to feel safe and have a safe environment for our kids. We have to watch each others backs and be able to count on that someone has yours.
I have to admit, seeing the Hoosier Dome come crashing down yesterday was really frickin cool. But I just can't understand why they wouldn't leave it up until after our 2012 Super Bowl. As part of the bid, we were required to show the existence of a professional quality facility at a reasonable distance from the game-field... which we're going to BUILD at Arsenal Tech? WTF? The dome was next door! And it was already there!
Sure, having the Super Bowl is gonna be awesome, and it's gonna take a lot of money, but I just get an awful feeling we're gonna see the city leaders and Super Bowl Committee start pissing away money over the next couple years getting ready. It's a celebration of extravagance, but it's not an excuse to be inefficient with our money.
I'm an old geezer in a power wheelchair, but that doesn't mean I can be disrespected and ignored by doctors and anyone else who can stand up straight and walk!
How long have you lived in Indianapolis? Have we not learned by now that it snows in Indiana? How much longer will it take for you to learn how to drive in inclimate conditions? I'm wondering because driving 35 mph down an icy road and nearly sliding off just honestly doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Also please remember that just because the roads are bad doesn't mean you should drive 5mph down the road asshole.
This year I'm working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I can't complain. With all the cutbacks and layoffs it's good just to have a job.
Why is it everyone going south on 69 in the morning and north in the evening are doing f'ing 12 mph...
Also wtf is with the rubberneckers??? Never seen an accident before, never seen someone get pulled over? huh, why dont you hit your brakes again and maybe you'll be next...
There is a nasty case of the Croup Virus going around Indy. I suspect my child picked it up at the Jordan Y. It's kind of scary if you don't know the warning signs. Oh and don't take your kid to daycare if they are sick, it's disrespectful and irresponsible.
Most of us are well aware and prepared for DTV. If it's not the local stations beating the DTV "revolution" to death, it's the tv celebrities that have 15 second spots littering the programming. The government has even issued coupons to assist in the purchase of the boxes. It's such a big phenomenon that there are scam artists selling fake DTV boxes. Even with this overkill of DTV abuse to the people of Indianapolis there are still 100,000 homes with antennas. They can't possibly still be confused about this crossover can they? This could be a good thing though. Like the ending of Cable Guy where all the TVs go to snow and people start to pick up books again. After the switch its going to be fun to watch the chaos.
The Indianapolis Star is warning their employees over the intercom that 10 people are going to be relieved of their jobs by the end of the day. The security guards at the Rolls Royce plant had to start collecting resumes because there was an onslaught of people for their job fair. Indianapolis is being hit hard by the times we all just need to hang on and hope that in 09 things turn around. It will get better.
I'm all for neighborhood grocery stores, as long as they're nice... I can't help but wonder what Skip's Market in Fountain Square was like when it was open. I don't even know how long ago that mighta been, 5 years? 25 years? I hate Bud's. Starting with the facade, what the hell? is it a feed barn? It's a tacky eye-sore that's not doing anything to attract people to the area (not that the Square is exactly oozing with beautiful architecture or anything, but still). And it's shockingly overpriced for the Aldi-quality products it sells. There's no selection of fresh anything. I wouldn't buy meat there if it was free. And there's a dollar aisle...
I guess me and any other Fountain Square snobs will have to keep going to the "just far enough away to be a pain in the ass" O'Malia's for less of a Nascar-sponsored malt liquor shopping experience.
