Put Ur Damn Balls Away!

Jan 5, 2009
Parker - Castleton

Alright, what's the deal with guys at the gym? Yes, I understand that it's a lockerroom and there's going to be naked men. But the male body is just not the prettiest thing in this world. For Gods' sake, put your clothes on first before doing other things! I don't care how comfortable you supposedly are with your body, other people probably don't want to see it. Have some respect. There was a guy at the Downtown Y the other day who had a conversation with another guy the entire 5 minutes it took me to get ready... all while wearing nothing but a t-shirt! Dude! Put your damn balls away! I have to wonder if the guy he was talking to was offended, or at least confused. It takes about two seconds to put some boxers on, why not? And then there was a guy at the Jordan Y last week who was just hangin out watching TV in his towel... balls and all on show. (Why is there a lounge in the lockerroom anyway? I dunno... but put your clothes on before greasing up the chairs with your man-juice cocktail!) I think I'd have less of a problem with guys wanting to be naked around other guys because they're gay, that would at least seem normal. But these guys seem to be doing it to prove their manliness. Weird. Gross. Old balls.

Resolution Reaction

Jan 6, 2009

So many new faces at LA Fitness this week. Im guessing it has to do with resolutions. The first week of the new year is like black friday for gyms, but unlike the stores that make money just one day, the gyms milk the monthly payment for the rest of the year. How long will it take for the gym to go back to normal? Im gonna say february. Nice try people, better luck next year.

No Water at the YMCA???

Feb 13, 2009
Simone - Nora

So, I'm a member of the Jordan YMCA in the Nora area. A couple of weeks ago the vending machine, excuse me, the WATER vending machine was out of order. Okay I understand that these things happen. But I will say that it totally sucks to do a spin class with not a drop of water. Half way through the class your throat feels like you've been wading through a desert for days...not cool. Anyway, it was out for a couple days but I got by. And then I was at the YMCA today and that same machine was not accepting dollar bills...okay I'll go get some quarters, I thought. I walk over to the desk with my screaming child in my arms to ask for quarters for the vending machine and who would of thought...they were out of quarters. Are you kidding me??? The machine isn't taking dollar bills and you don't have any quarters...that's just fabulous news. Did I mention that there is only 1 vending machine with water? Did I also mention that I had a screaming child in my arms? I really needed that spin class today and some water would have been nice.

Daytime gym weirdos

I went to the gym this morning downtown, and it was completely different than going in the evening. Not many people were there at all, but that's not really a big deal, in fact, I thought it would be a good thing...

But it only took one person to ruin my whole workout. This bitch was rude, inconsiderate, and just weird. She kept yelling... at people that didn't even know her... and the equipment... it was messed up. The thing is... she wasn't even listening to music (or I might have chalked it up to ignorance), but no! She was just yelling... for attention maybe? Whatever the reason... Get the hell outta here!

The cardio room at the Athenaeum is crowded enough, we don't need jackasses making it even more uncomfortable.

And later, downstairs, I see the same hideous cow tramping around with her socks and shoes off..... uhhhh, fucking gross... I pay for a membership! I shouldn't have to deal with this sort of crap!

Seriously???

I often go to the gym mid morning when usually all you see is the hot mom club in their little shorts and sports bras. Yesterday must have been training for the special Olympics because there were about 12 mentally handicapped people standing around the weight machines. I sweat a lot and am not at all concerned about my appearance...nor do I look attractive in any way. I was getting my things out of a cubby when an old, handicapped man started hitting on me. Seriously??? I didn't even know what to say, so I just smiled and said "thank you". I was so appauled and embarrassed. I watch men stand around and stare at the "hot chicks" as they stretch or lift a 5lb weight and I laugh. But never have I caught someone watching me. I guess I'm only qualified for the over 50, handicapped men. I apparently have a lot of work to do.
